We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a QA Project Test Lead, reporting to the QA Software Manager for Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D), within Grid Automation (GA).
The role will require working with the Scrum development team and product management team to create and execute test solutions, both manual and automated, for product releases.
You will work among a talented and motivated R&D team, applying technologies such as On-line Dissolved Gas Measurement (DGA), Bushing Measurement (Tan Delta and Capacitance), Partial Discharge (PD) detection (UHF & Electrical) and Fast Transient measurement.
The QA Project Test Lead will have experience in developing and implementing quality assurance programs, leading teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This will be an onsite based role.
Job Description
Role Responsibilities
- Proactive involvement in each phase of Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC).
- Create detailed, well-structured, and comprehensive Functional and non-functional testcases, test plans, test scenarios and test data.
- Define, implement, and execute manual tests across our fleet of GE products to ensure product functionality and robustness.
- Ensure traceability of requirements to test cases.
- Methodically review user stories, acceptance criteria and product requirements.
- Triage and analyse the test results. Assist in prioritization and analysis of reported defects and work with development to facilitate timely closure.
- Identify, recommend, and implement procedures to improve the efficiency of QA test execution.
- Work closely with the scrum development team to carry out smoke and regression test executions in a timely manner.
- Maintain a record of test results for release documentation. Write test results and release documentation.
- Ability to captures debug output and stack traces to assist developers identify and fix root causes for firmware bugs.
- Provide progress reporting, metrics, and analysis.
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science discipline or equivalent.
- Extensive experience as a Firmware test engineer.
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills
- Evidence of mentoring/coaching software team members.
- Strong communication skills and proven experience of leading, and working with geographically dispersed team
- Working Knowledge of the Agile Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience of Linux Operating system or RTOS environments.
- Familiarity with Robot Framework and Selenium.
- Familiarity with Jenkins.
- Familiarity with HP ALM Quality Centre and Rally/JIRA
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline.
- Ability to understand mechanical and electronic systems
- Ability to use signal generators and oscilloscope
