Metalis are working with a leading manufacturing company who due to growth are looking for a detail oriented and driven individual to join their team. You will be responsible for the management of Health and Safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Role overview:
Management of Health & Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and practices and driving health and safety culture on site. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support operations with QESH advice. Lead a quality culture and ensure the best-in-class performance to our Internal and External customer base, implementing relevant quality control procedures, driving process controls and continuous improvement across all the companies' operations.
Responsibilities:
- Show enthusiasm and passion about QESH and deliver same energy to all staff on site with new ideas and initiatives.
- Lead by example and demonstrate strong work ethics, integrity, and a positive attitude.
- Management of site wide Health & Safety and Environmental issues through participative/hands-on interaction with all levels on site to ensure compliance with all current legislation, including codes of practice and relevant standards and the review and development of Company policy and procedures.
- Management and development of BS EN ISO 9001:2015; 14001:2015 and 45001:2018 international standards.
- To advise and guide all staff both internal and sub-contractor working on projects with regards to the implementation of the QESH policies and procedures.
- Ensuring that all systems are maintained so that the requirements of ISO standards are met and as defined, kept under review, by means of formal and informal audits.
- Support effective accident investigations and support liability claims and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations in respect of all relevant materials on site.
- To include the co-ordination of recording data supplied sub-contractors/suppliers, liaising with Managers in respect of reviewing risk assessments, safe procedures, training documentation and communication of information to all relevant parties.
- Conduct Internal Audits, assessments, and inspections to verify effective implementation and conformance to legislation, standards, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Host and co-ordinate all external auditing bodies and ensure we maintain current certifications.
- Management of non-conformances and interaction with relevant department on corrective actions and review actions.
- Monitoring and improvement of QESH KPI's, and analysis of performance data to identify focus areas for the business.
- Promoting and raising awareness, at all levels of an organization, of the impact of QESH issues, whether legislative or best practice are briefed to the business and any requirements implemented.
- Ensuring that all external testing is carried out and recorded.
- Ensuring all products are produced within tolerances specified.
- Interaction with external suppliers to address non-conforming product.
- Engage and coach the workforce to support a QESH culture, through behaviour-based initiatives, right first time and zero injury culture.
- Any other tasks directed by QESH manager
Knowledge and Experience:
- Experienced with ISO9001, 45001 and 14001.
- Knowledge of current QESH legislation and other requirements and their application in the workplace.
- Energy and enthusiasm.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Self-motivated and confident.
- The ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience of quality assurance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently, with great analytical thinking.
- High personal standards.
- Good technical and engineering understanding
Desirable:
- NEBOSH general certificate
- Internal auditor qualification
Hours and Salary:
Full time, permanent, 39hours a week, Mon-Fri
