HRA Recruitment are currently looking for Quality Controller in the Wolverhampton Area.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and expand the quality department to meet the existing and future requirements of the business. Major duties, tasks and responsibilities of a Quality Controller.
- Implementation of quality procedures, standards, and specifications throughout the organisation
- Collaborate with purchasing to ensure raw materials and purchased items from external suppliers meet quality requirements.
- Propose recommendations to management on developments and initiatives to achieve the maintenance and continuous improvement of the quality system.
- Collect, compile, and analyse relevant quality statistical data to obtain information regarding quality performance.
- Supervise technicians, inspectors, and other company staff to ensure they perform their duties in line with established quality procedures.
- Monitor production processes to identify deviations from quality policies and procedures.
- Conduct tests to verify the quality of raw materials and finished products.
- Review existing process and product specification to identify the need for improvement or upgrade.
- Conduct investigation against any nonconforming product or process to identify methods of corrective and preventive actions required.
- Prepare and present reports to update upper management on quality activities and performance.
- Maintain records of quality test, procedures and standards.
- Report to and advise the Quality Manager on department effectiveness
Requirements - Skills and abilities of a Quality Controller
- Education and Training: Qualifications and work experience in quality related functions. Knowledge and experience of ISO 9001. Experienced in the type and use of measuring and test equipment. Use of IT equipment and data storage for recording digitalised quality data. Previous experience within the Fastener, oil & Gas, Power Generation or Defence industries highly desirable.
- Analytical Skill: Ability to conduct tests to ensure products and materials comply with defined specifications.
- Interpersonal Skill: Ability to motivate and lead the team of quality personnel. Effectively communicate with all levels of the organisation internally and with customer / supplier contacts.
- Organizational Skill: Adept at planning and developing standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure that quality standards are maintained and continuously improved.
Hours for Quality Inspector:
Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:30pm
Pay: Negotiable at interview
