Quality Engineer

Due to an increase in orders, our client based in Ely is seeking an experienced Quality Engineerto join their team.

We are seeking candidates who have experience in ISO9001 and AS9100 and proven experience within a production/manufacturing environment.

Duties:

• Inspecting returned products and managing the quality return process as well as completed manufactured components
• Use of CMM, gauges and other metrology devices to carry out inspections
• Processing SDNRs, FMEA’s, PSW, Certificates/Declarations of conformity
• Using 8D Methodology to establish root cause, ensuring that corrective and proactively resolve quality issues and actions implemented to prevent reoccurrence
• Liaising with external suppliers, department supervisors and customers
• Conduct internal and supplier quality audits and produce reports on findings
• Developing a ‘Zero Defect’ approach to Quality
• Calibration of measuring equipment
• Delivering quality training to staff

What we are looking for:

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Use of measuring equipment including gauges, handheld equipment, CMM and other metrology devices.
• Basic computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
• Ability to liaise with manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues.
• To work with suppliers to maintain and develop the quality of sub-contract product and services.
• Production of FMEA reports and control plans.
• 8D problem solving and structured root cause analysis.
• To be able to develop work instructions and visual standards.
• The use and understanding of the internal Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) system and MIE Trak
