Quality Engineer

The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe. We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our busy manufacturing team; you will be based at our Milton Keynes site with a requirement to travel to other Whittan sites.
Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer has an important role to play in supporting and maintaining the Quality Processes and procedures we have in place.
Key Responsibilities:
·Internal Auditing of all areas
·Customer Focused / resolving customer Issues.
·Quality Inspections / Ensure product conformity.
·Oversee Documentation control - company form register.
·Raising of NCRs / Corrective Actions
·Support Continual Improvement Initiatives
·Training of key processes to shop floor personnel.
·Monitoring / upkeep of Process Boards
·Upkeep of Skills Matrix / Certification
·Calibration & Issue of all measuring equipment
·Oversee specific areas - Weld testing, Salt Spray test!
·Collection of Scrap data to drive cost down focus.
·Writing of New procedures
·8d and problem-solving analysis.
·Site visits to assist with Quality complaints.
·Supplier Audits in line with company procedures
Required experience/skills/qualifications:
·Working Knowledge of ISO Standards
·Experience in engineering & manufacturing processes
·Methodical & very organized
·Good in both written & oral skills to deliver reports to the business & customers.
·Ability to work on own initiative & train others.
·Able to work under pressure.
·Manage & influence others to achieve key objectives.
·Knowledge of Internal Auditing
·Be able to review and flow chart a process.
·Understanding of measuring equipment
·Understanding of engineering drawings
·Work with suppliers to ensure specifications are met - Steel, Chemical etc
·Computer Literate, knowledge of SAP preferable
