A leading manufacturer of precision parts to the UK aerospace sector, based near Burnley, is actively recruiting for a Quality Engineer on a permanent basis. The position is offering circa £40,000 - £45,000 p/a, with additional benefits included.Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, your key responsibilities will be to identify and facilitate continuous improvement to reduce the cost and impact of non-conformities, while supporting the business in the Zero Defects journey. Other day to day requirements will include: * Support Inspection processes and the Inspection department’s understanding of drawing requirements * To organise and facilitate cross-functional Quality meetings; logging outcomes, concerns and positive actions and monitoring timely resolutions and closures * Support PPAP activity and 8D investigations * Identifying outstanding / overdue tasks & problems, ensuring appropriate action is taken to avoid further escalation * Complete FAIRs, Management Forms, KPI data etc. * Assist in creating, reviewing and updating Quality procedures, instructions and system documentation as required * Assisting Quality audits; Identifying, reporting and to action areas for improvement in line with legal & customer requirementsThe Quality Manager is keen to hear from Quality Engineers who have a strong background in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions. Your application should demonstrate a strong grasp of problem-solving methodologies, such as 5s / 5Why, 8D and RCCA. You should also be capable of understanding and supporting PFMEA, SPC and Process Control activities.Preferably you will have previous experience in the aerospace industry, however an experienced Quality Engineer with a good understanding of the relevant quality tools and processes from another industry could still be of interest.
