Quality Engineer

As part of their current high-growth phase, a leading Aerospace Manufacturer are looking for a Quality Engineer to join the team to support all aspects of project-related Quality.

Key responsibilities:

* Supporting the development and implementation of business processes and systems in compliance with AS9100 and regulatory requirements
* Acting as the Quality focal on development projects
* Driving APQP activities
* Drive for FAIR and PPAP completion
* Acting as a business management system auditor
* Taking part in customer/supplier visits and audits as required
* Working with process owners to drive closure of non-conformances
* Leading internal and external investigations to identify root cause and corrective actions
* Involvement in change management and design for assembly/manufacture
* Supporting the development and deployment of quality objectives.

Skills and experience required:

* Previous proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the aerospace industry
* Familiar with CAA regulations Part21G and Part21J
* Knowledge of AS9100 and Process Auditing, AS9100 Lead audit
* Experience with Quality Improvement Programmes, Pareto, PFMEA, 5s, 6 Sigma or similar continuous improvement tools
* Experience with internal and external audits
* Experienced in the use of APQP tools and techniques, familiarity with AS9145 preferred
* Experienced in the use of statistical analysis, process capability and problem resolution tools (8D, 5 Why, 6 Sigma etc.) and techniques
* A team player with the ability to work under own initiative

* Ability to work at pace in a multi-project environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Full UK driver's license.
