The role of Quality Engineer will support our Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Line Side Control Centre Teams.
Position Responsibilities:
Researching contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation.
Supporting LSCC (Line Side Control Centre) to ensure timely responses to production issues.
Support the FAI process
Support the Calibration system to ensure that measurement and test equipment is calibrated as required.
Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
Maintains and monitors active sample inspection plans in accordance company policies. Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
Analyses non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
Works under general supervision.
Facilitates 8 step problem solving activities.
Some examples of day to day duties also include:
Assistance with the upkeep and development of QA related documentation
Support inspection activities when needed
Point of contact between QAI’s, Operations and Supply Chain
Supporting the LSCC team
Deploy the wider QA strategy through the QA department and beyond
Training and mentoring various departments across the business in QA principles
Generation and approval of First Articles
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years' experience working in a manufacturing environment.
3+ years' experience working within an ISO9001 accredited QMS
Experience in the use and interpretation of engineering drawings, standards and specifications.
Experience in the use of manual measuring equipment
Experience in the use of problem solving tools (5-Why, Ishikawa etc)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience working in a manufacturing environment – machining
Working within an AS9100 accredited QMS
Experience working with calibration systems and gauge control
Good understanding of the basic operation and control of CMMs and similar automated measurement equipment.
Internal and/or external auditor training/experience
GD&T (Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Training or experience in the interpretation of complex drawings.
Experience in proactive and reactive quality tools (8D, APQP, FMEA)
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education BSc degree in Engineering / Manufacturing / Quality (not essential) and typically 3 o or more years of related work experience working in a Quality role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
