Summary:
Quality engineer will define the methods and equipment that production and engineering teams use to measure the quality characteristics of processes and products. Test products, systems and procedures to ensure that they meet technical standards, creating documentation on quality and safety and liaising between the engineering, production teams and the customers to uncover quality-related issues.
Main responsibilities:
- Set detailed guidelines on what needs to be checked and what the quality standards are.
- Audit our Integrated Management System (IMS) based on ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 requirements.
- Monitor the entire production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential malfunctions as early as possible.
- Inspect product materials for defects and durability. This includes incoming materials, work in progress and finished goods.
- Identify the root of technical issues and recommend fixes.
- Prepare reports on malfunctions and corrective actions.
- Review current blueprints and quality documentation.
- Set and track quality assurance goals (KPI).
- Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products.
- Day to Day Supplier Quality Management.
- Supplier Improvement Management.
- Administration of Concession System.
- Day to Day Factory Quality.
- Determining quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures.
- Support the ongoing development of Standard Operating Procedures for all departments and processes.
- The post-holder may be asked to take on different tasks as required, and all employees are expected to work collaboratively to support the overall goals of Dometic.
- Be responsible for your own health and safety and aware of other's health and safety in the workplace.
Qualifications and experience:
- Previous work experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role
- Hands-on experience with Integrated Management Systems (IMS)
- Experience in testing methodologies
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relevant field – desirable
- Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, 8D, Cause and effect, 5 Whys and Pareto
- Good IT / Computer skills knowledge
- Internal Auditor trained to ISO 9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 (desirable)
- External Auditor Trained ISO 9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 (desirable)
- Knowledge of Injection Moulding, Metal / Plastic Extrusion or Fabric Textiles (desirable)
