Scantec Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading FMCG Packaging manufacturer to recruit a Quality Engineer / Technician for their site near Newcastle. This is a newly-created due to growth and huge investment within the site. It's a global manufacturing business who supply products to some of the biggest names in FMCG.
Hours / Shifts:
37.5 hours PW
3x shifts - rotating: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am

Role profile:
Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role will support all Quality Assurance activities on all the manufacturing lines. The role is part of the overall Quality team onsite, working a rotating three shift system.
Summary of core responsibilities:
Ensure that all critical process control parameters are maintained within specification
Ensure that all appropriate actions are taken to supply a quality finished product to the customer
Identify high-risk activities, events, and trends
Work pro-actively with the manufacturing team and use your own initiative based on data and information available
Provide a central point of reference regarding customer or plant-related ongoing quality issues
Required Knowledge & Experience:
We're seeking a candidate with a proven background in quality assurance within a similar, fast paced packaging or manufacturing environment. A good knowledge of ISO standards, SPC (Statistical Process Controls), HACCP (Hazard Analysis, Critical Control Point) and Continuous Improvements techniques would be advantageous. Ideally you will be commercially aware, self starting with excellent communication skills.
