Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced management systems auditor or health and safety professional to complement our diverse professional Quality, Safety and Security audit team.
We welcome auditors ideally with experience in large, complex, and highly regulated industries and/or who have experience of carrying out accreditations to ISO standards. You could also be an experienced health and safety professional looking to become an auditor. An audit qualification is desirable or a desire to become a professional auditor and complete lead auditor training. Equally important is a proven track record of working methodically and objectively as well communicating flexibly.
We deliver a varied plan of safety, quality and security audits and whilst you would use your experience to deliver audits centred on health and safety, you will also gain experience and carry out audits on the full range of TfL’s risks and activities including internal operations, projects, engineering and supply chain.

Key Accountabilities
- Plan and deliver audits as a solo auditor and as part of a team.
- Prepare audit scopes and programmes and organise all sessions required for each audit.
- Document audit work accurately, evaluating the evidence to draw conclusions and draft clear and concise reports.
- Identify significant issues with the efficiency or effectiveness of the management system and ensure that owners take effective actions to address them.
- Deliver audits of the TfL supply chain against contract requirements including reviewing supplier management systems;
- Engage with stakeholders to plan and organise assignments and share good practice and lessons from across the organisation;

- Organised and focussed on delivery through planning, conducting and reporting;
- Excellent written and verbal communicator who can present complicated information in a clear and concise fashion.
- Ability to quickly understand business areas and the risks and challenges that they face.
- Can present views convincingly and robustly to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation whilst still keeping a good relationship;
Essential Knowledge and Experience
- Hold a relevant qualification in an applicable subject e.g., NEBOSH diploma
- Knowledge of management system standards such as ISO45000
- Degree level of education or relevant professional experience.
- Experience of working in a similar industry or large public organisation
Desirable Knowledge and Experience
- Hold a relevant professional audit qualification e.g. IRCA lead auditor;
- Experience in auditing management systems internally or in the supply chain;
- Experience of working for TfL, it’s supply chain or a similar transport organisation;
