Job Title: CMM Programmer
Pay Rate: £17.47 p/h
Location : Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
Benefits:
· 21 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays.
· Single shift, 4 day working week, Monday to Thursday.

Job Opportunity:
Caterpillar Shrewsbury are responsible for the design, development, and integration of engine and drivetrain packages to meet the needs of tracked and wheeled products globally. The facility also provides remanufacturing services of industrial engines, components, and transmissions. An opportunity has become available for a Coordinated Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer within the Quality Engineering Department at Caterpillar Shrewsbury. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the incumbent will be predominately responsible for writing programs for CMMs using Quartis Software, providing technical support for CMM operators, and supporting other activities relative to the Inspection Department, achieving quality and on time delivery to customer specifications. This is a challenging role and represents an exciting opportunity working as part of a highly focused team.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Write and validate CMM programs using Quartis software. This will involve amending existing programs and writing new programs.
Undertake inspection measurement of precision components using a Bridge CMM.
Provide technical support for CMM operators and Inspectors.
Compile and Issue Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR) and inspection audit reports.
Skills and Experience:
Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles :
Have the ability to read Engineering drawings, and a comprehensive knowledge and full understanding of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Have a good understanding of Quartis software.
Practical experience in an Inspection role.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise a varied range of work.
Self-motivated with the ability to work on their own initiative.
Excellent team player.
Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
Having a recognised Engineering qualification eg City&Guilds, NVQ Level 3 .
Computer literate. Including knowledge of Microsoft Office and MRP system (MFG/PRO)
Industry experience in Manufacturing, Industrial, Automotive, or Aerospace.
Experience with casting, machining and Assembly processes is highly desirable.
