Handelsbanken plc (the Bank) is an important and continuously expanding part of Handelsbanken with over 155 branches countrywide, an established Head Office functional structure and Handelsbanken Wealth and Asset Management.
UKR is the independent risk control function within the Bank and acts as the second line of defence (2LOD). The function provides independent oversight of the Bank's principle risks i.e. credit, financial and operational risk.
The Risk Models and Data team, within the Risk function, is responsible for stress testing risk model development and maintenance, risk data analytics, the regular production of a number of management information (MI) reports on various risk topics and risk data governance.
The role is for a Quant Risk Analyst to support the risk modelling and stress testing activities of the team. These activities include production and maintenance of Pillar 2A models for Credit, IRRBB and Operational risk as well as working with the firm wide stress test tool for the entire balance sheet for capital and liquidity purposes.
This is a great opportunity for a quant Risk Analyst who is eager to be exposed to a viariety of risk models and participate in a wide range of activities in the quant analysis, risk modelling and stress testing space. The role will suit a self starter who is keen to develop further. The role offers high visibility within a flat structure and the successful candidate will be able to communicate their analysis and projects with senior stakeholders across the Bank including board members.
The successful candidate needs to the formal hybrid operating model of the bank with 3 days a week based out of the London office.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the development, maintenance and execution of all Pillar 2A (Credit, Concentration, IRRBB, Operational risk) and stress testing tools (aggregated and components for the firm wide stress test);
- Execute stress testing processes for the submission of regulatory disclosures such as ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery plan;
- Maintain, update and review process and technical documentation;
- Engage with the Model Risk Management function of the Bank and support the remediation of known model limitations;
- Participate in working groups, engage and communicate with senior stakeholders across the Bank regarding ongoing deliverables and future projects;
- Communicate technical messages to senior management;
- Support the development of new stress testing & sensitivity analysis tools

- Have worked within a Credit Risk/ Financial Risk/ Operational Risk/ Stress Testing/ Model Development function of a bank;
- Be able to evidence experience in model development and/or model execution;
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate technical messages to senior stakeholders;
- Be able to demonstrate awareness of risk governance and the ability to implement process controls;
- Have excellent planning and communication skills and a good understanding of Credit Risk and/or Financial Risk processes and terminology;
- Have intermediate Python and/or SAS programming knowledge including SQL queries;
- Have intermediate Excel skills such as working with pivot tables, functions and formulas;
- Be proactive and able to act on their own initiative;
- Deliver high quality outcomes and have excellent attention to detail.
