Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: England, East Midlands, Leicestershire

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £40,000.00 - £55,000.00 per annum

Job Duties:

• Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
• Conduct site visits and evaluations to assess project progress and costs
• Analyse and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
• Manage project finances and track expenses to ensure projects stay within budget
• Provide advice on cost-effective solutions and value engineering
• Prepare tender documents and assist with tender evaluations
• Prepare and submit progress reports to stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
• Professional accreditation (e.g. RICS) is desirable

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying
• Experience in construction projects is essential

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g. CostX, Bluebeam)
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Chartered Quantity Surveyor status
• Postgraduate qualification in Quantity Surveying
• You hold a degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
• Experience working with complex civil projects within the water industry.

Working Conditions:

• Hybrid work with frequent site visits
• Regular working hours with occasional overtime required
• Travel to project sites may be necessary
