SalaryWestwood Construction are on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor to join our client on a permanent basis in Newport. The company is entering a busy period and are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who has worked on RC Frames/Reinforced Concrete to join their team who specialise in high rise buildings.
Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for RC frame and reinforced concrete projects
- Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and control costs.
- Administer contracts, including subcontractor agreements.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials and labour.
- Collaborate with site teams to assess project requirements.
- Estimate quantities for concrete, formwork, reinforcement, and related items.
- Identify potential risks related to cost, schedule, and quality.
- Mitigate risks through effective planning and communication.
- Analyse project data to make informed decisions.
- Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and progress.
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with exposure to RC frames/reinforced concrete.
- 5 years minimum experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Estimating experience and proficiency in using cost estimating software and tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs.
