Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities:
?Manage all aspects of quantity surveying for construction projects, including cost estimates, tendering, procurement, and contract administration.
?Prepare accurate bills of quantities and cost estimates, ensuring alignment with project specifications and requirements.
?Collaborate with project teams to manage subcontractor procurement, ensuring timely and cost-effective engagement.
?Assess and negotiate subcontractor packages, contracts, and variations to ensure favourable commercial outcomes.
?Conduct thorough cost analysis and value engineering exercises to optimize project profitability.
?Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow, providing regular reports and cost forecasts to the management team.
?Prepare and submit interim and final valuations, managing the timely and accurate certification of payments.
?Administer contracts, including variations, claims, and dispute resolution, while maintaining effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
?Collaborate with the Estimating team during the tendering process, providing accurate cost advice and contributing to bid submissions.
?Stay updated on industry trends, changes in legislation, and best practices in quantity surveying.
Requirements:
?Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
?Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a civils contracting environment but this is not essential.
?Familiarity with a variety of construction projects
?Strong knowledge of quantity surveying practices, contracts, and commercial management.
?Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
?Proficiency in using industry-standard software
?Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
?Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
?Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essential.
