Adecco's specialist Property Services Division North are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a local housing association to assist them in recruiting a Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis to work out in their offices located in Nottingham.
Duties
- Responsible for carrying out quantity surveying functions either for planned works or within the inhouse contractor
- The works programmes include reactive maintenance, void refurbishments and disrepair or planned works depending on the requirements. You will provide commercial insight and strategy to ensure business effectiveness and financial efficiency is achieved. While developing new ways of delivering the commercial approach to future contract performance and spend to support the contract partnership.
- A key part of the role is to control costs and monitor spend offering alternative solutions and finding financial efficiencies and developing new ways of delivering the commercial approach to future contract performance and spend to support the contract partnership.
- To review budget requirements and offer support and advice to relevant budget holder on requirements and current spend profile
Candidate requirements
- Educated to degree level or equivalent with a qualification in a relevant field such as quantity surveying or architecture (RICS)
- Experience in working in a quantity surveying role in a commercial environment
- A demonstrable track record of delivering service excellence to a customer base. A record of achievement in making a difference
- Experience working in a social housing / repairs and maintenance environment
- A good standard of written business English and ability to use data and evidence to make a strong business case
- Previous experience of using NATFED SOR codes, especially version 6
- Previous experience of partnering type contracts within social housing sector
- A very good proficiency with Microsoft Excel and analysing large sets of data to find trends and provide succinct reports for management
- Candidate will be required to complete a DBS check
