Quarry Maintenance Technician

Smart Solutions have an opportunity with a leading aggregates company based in West Wales, offering an exceptional service within the construction industry. They are seeking a Quarry Maintenance Technician who would be responsible for the day-to-day management of maintenance activities and workshop staff on the site near Haverfordwest. The successful candidate will ensure that SHE requirements & inspection targets are met whilst driving and instilling a culture of continuous improvement.
Hours of work: Days, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities for the Quarry Maintenance Technician:
* Manage and develop direct reports to enable the team to identify and resolve issues.
* Be comfortable with managing a team of 7 direct reports and maintenance contractors.
* Use data to identify trends and then take appropriate action to make business improvements.
* Run efficient and cost-effective maintenance processes.
* Ensure compliance with company and statutory health & safety policies and regulations.
* Ensure compliance with planning constraints and liaise with appropriate statutory bodies, as required.
Requirements for the Quarry Maintenance Technician:
* Have similar previous experience within a supervisory role
* Hold/be working to or willing to work towards IOSH Managing Safely
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Plant Mechanical
Not essential, but desirable:
* Hold an appropriate professional qualification to hold an Institute of Quarrying member status
* Hold/be working to or willing to work towards NVQ Level 4 in Health, Safety and Environmental management in extractive minerals
* Be a qualified first aider
