Location: Field based - Dover / South Coast and South East of England regions

Telent are looking for a Radio Field Engineer. Working within the Network Services business function, this Radio Field Engineer role will be working across a key contract that requires strong Radio and Radar installations and maintenance knowledge, due to an increase in work. This Radio Field Engineer position will cover the South East of England region, in addition to the South Coast and Dover areas, so you must be flexible to travel. You will be responsible for responding to job tasks issued via PDA within the contractual SLA's that have been set, on a 1-in-4 weeks On-call rota.
The successful Radio Field Engineer will assist the national project teams to install, commission, and perform upgrades to new or existing Radio and Radar equipment and technology to key Public Sector organisations, and to provide support to other regional and national teams as and when required. Within this role you will be expected to be able to work independently to manage all allocated jobs, liaise with the customer users of the equipment and technology, and the rest of the team including the Service Centre who assign the jobs to make sure that all jobs are handled in a timely manner.
You will also be expected to work independently and as part of a team on Cellular Radio, Wi-Fi, PMR's, network systems and Radar installed in and on buildings, at street level, third party sites and at remote sites.
The role will take part in an On-call roster on a rotational basis and be flexible with the provision of extra hours working, over-night work and weekend work, whilst working in a safe and responsible manner.
Radio Field Engineer - What you'll do:
Identify faults on Radio and Radar equipment.Carry out Corrective and Planned Maintenance / programming of the following:Radio and Radar interface equipment systemsPMR systemsMultitone digitalAnalogue systems / Voice & DataInstall equipment and installation materials using latest issue contract manuals and procedural documents to required standards of quality and time.Mentoring colleagues and subcontract personnel to achieve required time and quality standards.Complete QC checks on own work and that completed by others on site and record results accurately using the correct document.Undertake formal Quality audits in line with project quality management regime and record results as required.Accurate and timely submission of all payroll data and expense claims in accordance with published processes.Maintain adequate and 'in date' personal protective equipment enough for all tasks undertaken and ensure that it is used all times.Manage all personal issue tooling and test equipment in line with published processes to ensure that fit for purpose, calibrated and PAT tested tooling and test equipment is available as appropriate to complete all assigned tasks.Efficient management of all on-hire equipment ensuring items are returned promptly after use to minimise cost.Compliance with the company auditing processes and procedures in accordance with all internal and external requirements.Knowledge, understanding and enforcement of all Company Policy, Processes and Procedures relating to Field activities.Care and maintenance of company vehicle and be fully compliant with all relevant driver policies.Timely and accurate submission of hours and expenses.Accurate and timely completion and submission of all required site administration and completion documents as required.Complete general risk assessment prior to commencement of each task on site and record in site diary.Manage skills profile and training records on HR.net.Must be willing to travel and work away from home at times.Radio Field Engineer - Who you are:
We are looking for someone who has been involved in Radar installation and maintenance works, VHR / RF transmission systems, LF to Microwave. The role also requires someone who enjoys travelling (across the South East region, the South Coast and Dover areas) and can work away if or when required. The ideal Radio Field Engineer will also have experience in Radio installation work, ideally within the Emergency Services industry (install and maintain radio equipment within the industry). Lastly, the Radio Field Engineer also requires someone who can build strong relationships and trust with our customers, prioritizing their requirements and providing the best service and support showing commitment and dependability.
