We are currently recruiting for a Radiology department Assistant (RDA) to work in our Imaging and diagnostics department. Assisting the radiographers, sonographers, radiologists, and administrative staff within the Imaging department to deliver safe and effective patient-focused care.

About the role

The role of the Radiology department Assistant (RDA) is to assist the radiographers, sonographers, radiologists, and administrative staff within the Imaging department to deliver safe and effective patient-focused care. They will ensure that all areas of the department are kept well stocked, organised, and ready for every service use.

The RDA will provide care and support to all patients attending for imaging, preparing patients for radiological examinations, and always ensuring maintenance of patient dignity.

The RDA will be expected to conduct physiological measurements (e.g., BP, pulse, Respiratory, Temperature, urinalysis) on patients as directed and they will conduct observations on patients before and after scans or procedures as directed.

Skills and experience required

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • NVQ Level II/III or Care Standards Certificate – or willingness to undertake training.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Cannulation & Phlebotomy – or willing to undertake training.
  • BLS – or willingness to undertake training.
  • Competent in using Istat – or willingness to undertake training.
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach
  • Demonstrate a willingness to take delegated responsibilities for tasks appropriate to the role.
