Position: Rail System Safety Engineering (Engineer, Senior Engineer & Principal

Engineer levels)

Location: Pride Park, Derby

The Role:

Rail Systems Engineering Safety Management professionals to join our established

Infrastructure Engineering team supporting product introductions, major infrastructure

projects and developments.

Essential Skills/ knowledge:

  • Substantial technical experience of one or more rail infrastructure engineering

specialisms, such as ETCS, CBTC, TMS, GSM-R, Railway Signalling &

Telecommunications, Operational Control Systems and SCADA.

  • Experience of rail infrastructure safety engineering throughout the various stages of

the project lifecycle, including design, construction, testing, commissioning, systems

integration, trial running and handover.

  • Experience of safety engineering methodologies, including Common Safety Method

for Risk Evaluation and Assessment.

  • Knowledge and experience of the development and review of system-wide Safety

Cases (civil infrastructure, tunnelling, stations, signalling, track, traction power, data

transmission systems, communications etc).

  • Demonstrable knowledge and application of rail industry standards and international

best practice. Examples include NTSNs, NNTRs and CENELEC standards

  • Engineering Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) or equivalent
  • Ability to speak English at business level
