Rail Systems Engineer - Coatbridge
We are seeking a highly experienced Rail Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, integration, and interface management of Rail Systems, including telecoms/SCADA, traction power, and other related systems. They will work closely with other engineers, project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure that Rail Systems are designed, integrated, and commissioned to meet the required performance, safety, and reliability standards.

- Lead the design and integration of Rail Systems, including telecoms/SCADA, traction power, and other related systems.
- Lead the development of Systems Engineering team.
- Lead and develop contractor assurance processes across telecoms/SCADA.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications, design drawings, and other engineering documents.
- Collaborate with other engineers, project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure that Rail Systems are integrated and commissioned to meet the required standards.
- Manage interfaces between different Rail Systems and subsystems, ensuring that they are integrated and tested to ensure smooth and safe operation.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance and support to other engineers.
- Ensure that all designs and systems meet regulatory requirements and are compliant with relevant standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Management of TQs/RFIs and STQs (back to Designers) – ensuring these are closed out promptly.
- Inputting to TQ/RFI/As Built register.
- Escalation to CEM and PMs for any technical challenges , or programme/commercial which would influence delivery.
- Interface with Employer’s Representative and DPE.
- Appreciation of HAZIDs and CSM requirements.
Your profile:
- Degree in Engineering, science or similar, or equivalent technical background.
Minimum 5-10 years experience. - Knowledge of RailCom Manager.
- Business awareness, collaboration, and development.
- Management of Innovation and Change.
- Competent in managing external stakeholders.
- Able to handle technical delivery.
