Job Title: Raw Materials Coordinator, Accessories

Reports To: Production Development Manager

Contract Type: 40 hours per week

Purpose:

The successful candidate will assume overall responsibility for the day to day management of Raw Materials (RM), textiles, techniques, hardware and trim sourcing for accessories. The successful candidate will be part of the PD team and work closely alongside the design, production teams to execute the seasonal product strategy.

 

Responsibilities:

Focusing primarily on the sourcing and management of all seasonal Raw Materials and textiles you will:

  • Be responsible for the development of RM’s and textiles.
  • Own the day-to-day relationship with design and product development teams and the end-to-end process for RM’s consisting of leather, textiles, trim sourcing, including hardware development and new techniques.
  • Own the Raw Materials timeline for development and sampling according to the seasonal calendar.
  • Work with the design team in creating seasonal colour palettes and approving all initial colours.
  • Manage relationships with all raw material suppliers and their set up in the system.
  • Developing and maintaining key supplier and business partner relationships.
  • Place purchase orders for all RM sample materials.
  • Maintain and manage spreadsheet for tracking all RM purchase orders, costing, deliveries and vendor needs.
  • Weekly monitoring of on-time delivery and communication of any issues to the PD team.
  • Check-in all received RM samples.
  • Distribute all RM to vendors.
  • Monitor and ensure on-time delivery by troubleshooting issues with PD and design teams, tanneries and vendors.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the suppliers on a day-to-day basis, ensuring suppliers are kept up to date with regards to key dates, cost prices, etc.
  • Responsible for testing all RM and ensure product integrity by troubleshooting failed testing reports in conjunction with production team.
  • Review RM status and identify delivery and/or quality problems and determine and communicate the appropriate actions to be taken.
  • Create seasonal handover files for production and vendors with all approved materials and colours.
  • Responsible of requesting Raw Materials production masters
  • Create and organise all colour palette and leather information for the new season materials and techniques.
  • Own and manage the Raw Materials all Raw Materials in RLM
  • Adhere to seasonal budget and report seasonal RM and sample costs to Product Development
  • Develop an action plan for post-placement open issues with the production team.

About You:

  • Fluent written and spoken English, Italian or Spanish will be a plus.
  • Experience of raw material sourcing and development with luxury manufacturing.
  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of leather processing.
  • Strong knowledge of the features, performance and quality of leather, exotics, fur, textiles and trim for handbags and footwear.
  • Experience in working alongside designers with an ability to interpret the designers’ requirements.
  • Excellent organisation skills with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Experience in managing and dealing with tanneries, vendors and subcontractors.
  • A proven record in managing and resolving quality issues.

You will also be:

  • A multi-tasker who can prioritise tasks to meet deliverables.
  • Able to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • A team player with understanding of cross-functional dependencies.
  • Numerically skilled with strong costing and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
  • Positive and outgoing with a solution-oriented attitude.
  • An excellent written and verbal communicator.
  • Willing to travel internationally as required.
