LAB. are supporting a successful and dynamic business who specialise in R&D tax relief. We are looking through demand and growth for a Technical Consultant.
It is paramount for us that the candidate will fit with the company’s philosophy. They work in an ever-changing landscape where adaption is necessary. For that reason, we need someone who is agile, commercially astute, and ambitious. We do not by any means need a finished article, in fact we would like someone who has the experience required to perform in the role but has an attitude where they are open to learning new ways of working. We are looking for someone who has relevant experience but is mouldable and wanting to grow with the business.
Key duties & expectations will be:
- Managing and delivering a pipeline of clients as Technical Consultant in which they will lead all delivery. – preparing the financial assessment will not be part of your duties.
- Drafting detailed technical reports based on client interviews and information exchange that you will lead.
- Working with our technical director on enquiry response preparation when required.
- Attributing the relevant apportioned costs relating to R & D expenditure.
- Working with both SME & RDEC clients
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in subjects such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Software development, legal or finance. – this is not required but is preferential.
- Previous experience (1+ years) working as a Technical Consultant.
- Experience working with clients across: manufacturing, engineering disciplines, software engineering, construction and agriculture.
- Familiarity with HMRC guidelines and regulations pertaining to R&D tax credits.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex technical concepts and projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Bonus is as follows:
£150 per claim delivered up to 9, then once a consultant delivers the 10th claim this turns to £200 per report. Should a consultant deliver 10 reports in a month, this equates to £2k. This bonus is paid and then resets monthly. We would expect a consultant to be able to deliver 7 a month, 7 * 150 would be a £1050 bonus. Therefore, you’re overall salary will be in excess of £53,000 – these targets are achievable!

- Working hours – 8.30-5 Monday-Thursday, with a 4pm finish on Friday
- Fully remote role
- Monthly pay with monthly commission paid in arrears
