SalaryA London based university is hiring a Finance Reconciliation Officer. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the Student Loans Company (SLC) financial data on the University, undertaking tasks relating to invoicing, collection, reconciliation and maintenance of income.
Job responsibilities:
- Liaise with the University teams and external bodies to resolve any assessment discrepancies
- Manage and reconcile attendance records with the SLC database
- Identify and address unpaid or overdue payments to minimize past-due debt
- Process weekly remittances from SLC according to established procedures
- Investigate and resolve any unallocated payments or clawbacks to clear balances.
- Identify unpaid invoices and work with SLC to resolve issues
- Produce various financial reports as required by the Income team
- Prepare, annotate, and explain monthly and quarterly financial movements for month-end reporting
- Manage and reconcile SLC student assessments with student records
Candidate profile:
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
- Relevant technical accounting knowledge, reconciliation skills and ability to apply to the situations
- Ability to summarise and explain complex financial matters to both finance and non-finance staff, including external stakeholders and auditors
- Experience of invoicing & collections in a consumer and business customer environment
- Strong Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate data
- Experience and knowledge of working in a similar role in the Higher Education sector would be advantageous!
Annual salary: £38,022 - £40,000
Contract type: 3 months interim with the opportunity to progress to a permanent contract
Working hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week
Location: London - Hybrid working
