Working within the Museum Records team and reporting to the Head of Governance and Museum Records, the Museum Records Manager will be responsible for providing access to the Museum's corporate records, dating back to the founding of the Museum, to staff and external enquirers. Key duties include the line management of the Museum Records Assistant Manager and Research Advisor as well as a team of volunteers, reviewing and updating the Museum's Records Management Policies and Procedures in line with the relevant legislation, best practice and organisational priorities, and overseeing the Museum's compliance with Data Protection legislation. You will administer Freedom of Information requests including coordination with colleagues across the Museum for responses to deadlines, respond to enquiries for information regarding Museum Records, and provide advice to colleagues on relevant information management legislation.
This is a full time, permanent role in Band 5 - Middle Management and Professional Specialists. Core hours of work will be 36 per week, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with an additional hour to be worked as agreed upon with management, although due to the nature of the work, some flexibility may be required.
