The Chief Data Office is responsible for KPMGs Enterprise Data Strategy. The team reports into the Chief Digital Officer and sits within Enterprise-Wide Technology (EWT).


The strategic pillars of the CDO are:

  • Managing the firm’s data risk
  • Building the firm’s data architecture
  • Creating trusted data
  • Enabling the firm through data innovation


To deliver on managing the firm’s data risk, the Chief Data Office has assumed responsibility for the records management framework for the firm. We are also leading a 3-year initiative to remediate legacy data which is beyond its retention period.


As we are operating both BAU and transformation, there is an enduring requirement for an experienced Information and Records Manager within the team.


The role will report into the Head of Information Governance and in addition to BAU will support as required on remediation and transformation programmes, providing subject matter expertise.


What will you be doing?

  • Understand stakeholder requirements to provide information lifecycle implementation advice to both operational and technical colleagues.
  • Input to the creation of best practice guidance and be the subject matter expert for queries on Information and Records management topics.
  • Promote good Information and Records management practice and standards across the firm.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and communication of the UK firm’s Information and Records management policy controls.
  • Support the maintenance of the firm’s Records Retention Schedule to reflect the legal, regulatory and business requirements of the firm.
  • Contribute to best practice guidance and adoption advice for the firm’s document management systems.


What will you need to do it?

  • A postgraduate qualification in Archives and Records Management, or similar subject specialist study preferable.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of Information and Records management.
  • Expert working knowledge of Information and Records management standards (ISO 15489, ISO 30301, BS1008).
  • Expert knowledge of core Information and Records management concepts and a current understanding of professional practice and issues relating to Information and Records management.
  • Working knowledge of information security standards (e.g. ISF Standard of Good Practice for Information Security, ISO 27001).
  • Understanding of risk management.
  • Understanding of privacy requirements (including GDPR).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and simply, both verbally and in writing.
