We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Recovery Team with responsibility for the collection of Sundry Debt which are either due to customers reaching the end of the current debt recovery cycle or defaulting on current arrangements.
As a member of the team, you will ensure customer enquiries are dealt with promptly and professionally. You will be in contact with the public on the telephone and various internal departments, as well as at the Magistrates Court(s).
You will also be involved in negotiating terms of payment on debts as well as analysing and utilising the most proficient form of recovery available to the council.
You will ideally need to have 2yrs experience working within a busy office environment. You must be computer literate, flexible and willing to work in a team. Good interpersonal skills are as important as previous experience in this area.
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of debt recovery working practices and computer systems.
- Working knowledge of chasing debt via telephone
- Knowledge of the Councils policies and complaints procedure
Knowledge of Microsoft P.C. based solutions. - A minimum of 4 Grade C GCSE’s or equivalent qualifications, to include English and Maths

Successful applicants will be subject to flexible working hours and must be able to work a minimum of 37 Hours per week.

The council operates hybrid working. This involves working from an agreed workplace location in the borough for at least two days a week.
