Location: London – Hybrid Working Pattern of 2 days per Week Office Presence

Venn Group’s specialised legal recruitment team are in partnership with a Local Authority based in London to recruit a locum Regeneration Lead Lawyer (Property and Planning) to provide specialist legal advice on some transformational and exciting projects
The role is offered on a 3-5 month interim basis with there being a possibility of an extension as per requirement. This role offers an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to embed themselves in a friendly and committed legal team
The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (FCILEX) with recent post qualification experience of working in property and regeneration law ideally within the public sector with at least 5 years post-qualification experience

Duties Shall Include:
- Development Agreements: Lead and oversee the negotiation and execution of development agreements. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and standards in the development process
- Property Transactions: Manage both commercial and residential property transactions. Conduct thorough reviews of property documentation and ensure legal accuracy
- Planning and Highways: Address legal aspects related to planning issues and highway matters. Provide legal guidance on planning applications, regulations, and compliance
- Compulsory Purchase: Handle legal matters associated with compulsory purchase. Work on negotiations, documentation, and compliance with relevant laws
- Governance Oversight: Navigate and provide legal input on governance issues tied to projects. Ensure that all actions align with regulatory and legal frameworks
- Ancillary Issues Management: Tackle additional legal aspects that arise in the context of larger projects. Provide legal support to resolve ancillary issues in a timely and effective manner
The role of Locum Regeneration Lead Lawyer (Property and Planning) comes with a competitive rate £396 and gives a somewhat unique opportunity to facilitate the delivery of regeneration plans across the borough. Local Government experience is preferable but not essential for this role and each applicant will be assessed on a case by case basis
