Standalone Regional People Manager - professional services.
You will play a pivotal role in driving the people agenda across the South East region for a respected professional services firm. This role has a strong focus on talent management, learning and development, and employee engagement.
You will have a strong HRM/Generalist background to date - professional services experience would be advantageous.

- Regional HR Leadership: Be the torchbearer of HR in the South East, offering guidance and support to local offices.
- Collaboration: Join forces with the Chief People Officer and other people team members across the country for deploying nationwide HR strategies. Work with Regional Leaders for localised initiatives, ensuring our regional goals align with our broader HR mission.
- People Strategy: Craft and implement people strategies that fuel the South East region's growth, mirroring our national drive to foster a thriving culture.
- Policies and Procedures: Ensure the harmonious application of HR policies and procedures across multiple offices within the region.
- Colleague Engagement & Happiness: Spearhead engagement initiatives and action plans in the South East, cultivating a joyful workplace.
- Compensation and Benefits: Oversee the annual salary review process for South East offices.
- Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with the regional team to streamline hiring and onboarding for the region.
- Learning and Development: Contribute to tailored learning and development initiatives catering to the region's unique needs.
- Employee Relations: Tackle employee relations issues head-on, resolving conflicts to maintain a harmonious work environment.
- Process Improvement: Lead projects to refine processes, in line with our nationwide endeavour to elevate how we lead our people.
- HR Support: Offer generalist HR support on various employment matters, including performance management and employee queries.
- Business Partnering: Transform into a strategic HR business partner, coaching internal leaders to achieve their people-related objectives.
- Project Management: Play an active role in diverse HR-related projects, bolstering both regional and nationwide HR goals.
Hybrid working. As well as being based in Reading, this role supports several offices across the South East region and will entail regular travel to these other offices - Wokingham, High Wycombe, and two in London.
Profile
A successful Regional People Manager - South East should have/be:
- Strong HRM / Generalist experience: ideally you will have operated in a standalone HR role before.
- HR experience within professional services would be advantageous.
- CIPD qualification is preferred.
- Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to craft and execute people strategies that align with business objectives.
- Regional Leadership: A history of spearheading HR efforts in a specific region, with a knack for effectively guiding and supporting local offices.
- Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills to harmonise efforts with the Chief People Officer, Regional Leader, and other stakeholders, ensuring seamless alignment between regional and nationwide HR endeavours.
- Colleague Engagement and Happiness: A track record of successfully nurturing engagement and happiness initiatives, creating a vibrant work culture. Proficiency in conducting colleague surveys on engagement and happiness is a standout asset.
- Compensation and Benefits: Experience overseeing salary reviews and managing compensation and benefits programs.
- Talent Acquisition: Proficiency in talent acquisition and effective onboarding processes.
- Learning and Development: Prior involvement in designing and delivering tailored learning and development programs, ideally within a professional services environment.
- Employee Relations: A strong background in managing employee relations, conflict resolution, and sustaining a harmonious workplace.
- Process Improvement: Proven ability to lead process improvement projects, enhancing HR efficiency and effectiveness.
- Project Management: Demonstrated project management skills, with experience handling various HR-related initiatives and projects. Familiarity with change management principles, especially agile principles, is a plus.
- HR Policy and Compliance: Sound knowledge of HR policies, employment laws, and regulatory compliance.
- Business Partnering: Experience as a strategic people business partner, guiding internal leaders toward HR objectives that support business goals.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in HR data analysis, using metrics to inform decisions and measure the impact of HR initiatives.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively interact with colleagues at all levels.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to identify HR challenges, craft innovative solutions, and adapt to evolving priorities. A positive, can-do attitude is highly prized.
- Empathy: Display empathy and emotional intelligence when addressing employee concerns and issues.
Job Offer
This Regional People Manager - South East role offers the following:
- A competitive salary - circa £55,000 to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience and capability.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
