Our client is a global market leader in the distribution of substances, and they hold a central role in connecting customers and suppliers.
Your new role
This position will be covering the branch in both Perth and Glasgow and managing a team of 4 over both locations. You will ensure income is maximised by effective and efficient purchasing, procurement, and control of stock. This role is critical to ensure they minimise the stock holding for Working Capital, whilst ensuring that they have sufficient stock between both facilities to maintain customer service targets. You will lead the team and control the depot stock levels by implementing strong processes to gain stock synergies between both depots. Appraise and manage the stock control teams ensure working capital is kept within targeted limits. Manage and achieve stock related KPI's and coordinate stock purchases via existing contracts - including imports from overseas. Act as key stock contact for major customers and suppliers. Actively pursue additional purchasing and procurement opportunities. Liaise with members of the sales team to maximise sales opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed
Effectively establish strong processes in each Depot to ensure the day-to-day operation of the stock control functions operate effectively. Appraise, train and develop staff. Build effective working relationships with internal and external customers/suppliers. Prioritise and monitor your own workload and work within a fast paced, busy environment. Good at problem solving and the ability to communicate well with all interfaces and relationships.
What you'll get in return
Our client is offering a salary up to £39,000 plus bonus. 34 days annual leave including bank holidays plus 5 x salary for Life Assurance.
