As a Domiciliary Care Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the delivery of high-quality care services to individuals in their own homes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the care provided meets the needs of the service users while adhering to relevant regulatory standards and guidelines. This position requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the UK domiciliary care sector.
Service Management: Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of domiciliary care services in accordance with individual care plans and regulatory requirements.
Conduct initial assessments and regular reviews of service users' needs to develop and update personalized care plans.
Ensure that appropriate risk assessments are carried out and reviewed regularly to maintain a safe environment for service users and staff.
Monitor and evaluate the quality of care services through regular audits, inspections, and feedback mechanisms.
Implement strategies to address any identified areas for improvement and ensure continuous service enhancement.
Staff Management and Development: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of care staff, providing ongoing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
Allocate care workers' schedules efficiently, taking into account service user needs, staff availability, and contractual obligations.
Conduct regular staff performance reviews, identifying training needs and providing opportunities for professional development.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, effective communication, and collaboration among staff members.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., Care Quality Commission standards in the UK).
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of service users, including care plans, risk assessments, and progress notes.
Handle any safeguarding concerns promptly and follow the established procedures to protect the welfare of service users.
Prepare reports and statistical data as required, providing clear and concise information on service delivery, outcomes, and performance.
Stakeholder Engagement:Liaise with service users, their families, and other relevant stakeholders to address concerns, resolve issues, and ensure person-centered care.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social services, and other agencies to facilitate effective care coordination and promote integrated care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a management role in healthcare, domiciliary care, or social care
- Experience of developing and implementing quality assurance and improvement initiatives
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of CQC regulations, national minimum standards, and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication, leadership, and management skills
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including clients, their families, care staff, and external agencies
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Diploma Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services or equivalent
