Reed are working with one of the UK’s leading care and education providers who are looking for a dedicated Registered Managerto lead and manage the team in the everyday running of a 4-bed home for children with SEMH challenges in South-west Wiltshire.
The successful candidate will ensure the best outcomes and provide a safe and secure environment for all, adhering to Ofsted and the Quality Care Standards.
Registered Manager
- Location: Maiden Bradley, Wiltshire
- Job Type: Full-time (40hrs/week 0900-1700)
- Salary: £55,000 per annum
Day to Day of the role:
- Cultivate a culture aligned with organisational values and engage the team in the Home Statement of Purpose.
- Lead the performance and outcomes of the home, managing budgets and ensuring the physical environment supports high standards of care.
- Ensure team members are trained, skilled, and qualified to provide for the young people.
- Conduct performance management, appraisals, and development of the team.
- Uphold the highest levels of health, wellbeing, and safeguarding for young people in care.
- Maintain the health and wellbeing of all direct reports and maximise their potential.
- Oversee the completion of rotas to ensure a safe and compliant 24/7 operation.
- Manage annualised hours, overtime, and annual leave effectively.
- Develop and maintain effective external partnerships to enhance care provision.
- Maintain accurate records and administration in compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Child Care (England) or above.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with young adults, preferably in a residential environment.
- Experience managing challenging behaviour and working within Safeguarding and Medication environments.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Children’s Act and Quality Care Standards.
- Experience dealing with attachment and trauma.
- Proven track record of managing people and performance.
- Attained Level 3 CCYP.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexibility and adaptability in managing conflicting priorities and challenges.
