Our client provides special education, care and community support. The organisation are able to support the most complex, vulnerable and hard to place children, young people and adults. Their services work with people with autism, mild to severe learning disabilities, mental health needs and challenging behaviour. They are able to meet the changing needs of people which means they can offer support as they move from childhood to adulthood and beyond.
Maple View School, part of the GrouP, has a successful history of working with very complex young people who need highly focused support and wraparound education, care and therapy. The school offers fully individualised and inclusive education for day and residential children; they're now looking for an experienced senior care leader who can collaboratively lead the care provision alongside the education team so that both areas of the school work to the highest standard and in tandem.
The School is seeking a Registered Manager to lead and further develop its outstanding Children's Home provision. They are an aspirational specialist school for children with moderate to severe learning difficulties, communication needs and behaviour challenges for those aged 6 to 16 years. The on-site Children's Home is registered for up to 8 children.
The Role
This senior role offers a fantastic opportunity to continue to develop, with the Head Teacher, a vibrant home for children. The post holder will be supported by a dedicated staff team. You will have autonomy and the flexibility to share new creative ideas to further improve the service. You will also have the support from other Registered Managers, a Quality Assurance Manager and a Director of Children's Services. The organisation work closely together and place great value on sharing good practice and supporting one another.
The successful candidate will effectively manage every aspect of the care provision and ensure they continue to provide an outstanding level of care and support for young people and their families. You will also be a champion for children's rights and be able to hear their voice to develop the service to meet their needs.
You should have considerable experience of working with complex young people and supporting staff to do so, in addition to relevant senior level care and OFSTED experience and have achieved or be willing to achieve the L5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare.
