Registered Manager - Hockley House

You will be helping to shape, develop and then ultimately manage a new Ofsted regulated Children's Home comprised of three living areas with a communal space. The home is due to open in Spring/ Summer 2024, therefore your initial focus will be leading the project team to ensure everything is in place to ensure its successful launch.

Innovative in its purpose and approach, Hockley House will meet the complex needs of an identified cohort of up to 3 children and young people who have significant mental health and behavioural needs which do not meet the criteria for detention and treatment in hospital or the threshold for secure accommodation but require a high level of support.

With a planned intervention package that is multi agency at its core, children will experience the skill and expertise of Children's Services residential and education staff and co-located Health Services who will work within a common framework of trauma informed therapeutic intervention. Creating this new local provision will also enable the young people to maintain family contacts, with the goal of reunifying the child with their family or supporting transitions to independence.

Utilising your extensive experience management gained in a position relevant to the residential care of vulnerable children and your high-level strategic leadership and communication skills, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the delivery and continuous improvement of the service meets stringent quality standards.

You will also apply your understanding of multi-disciplinary approaches and effective partnership working to develop and sustain an aspirational, child centred culture and an integrated approach to maximise the outcomes for children.

Meeting the 'fitness' requirements to register as the Manager (The Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Regulation 28) you will also hold the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification or be prepared to complete this qualification - with support.
