We are currently recruiting for qualified Nurses (RGN, RMN, RNLD) for our role as a Disability Assessor, you will be responsible for carrying out face-to-face or telephone assessments with individuals who have a varied range of physical and/or mental health disabilities and seeking to receive the PIP (Personal Independent Payment) benefit scheme on behalf of the DWP.
Nurses must possess a broad range of clinical experience working with adults. Have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills as you will be interacting with claimants from diverse backgrounds. Good IT skills are a must and an ability to type accurately in real time during the consultation meetings.

Job Responsibilities as a Disability Assessor:
Be the first point of contact during with people with diverse range of health conditions, including physical and mental health problems.
Use your clinical knowledge and experience by looking into the different activities of daily living and completing assessments to understand how their condition affects claimants and what limitations arewhen completing daily living activities.
Produce detailed reports and evaluate evidence for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) claimants. Understand the PIP process and ability to use questioning to obtain information. Use broad based experience and learn about a wide range of health conditions.
Complete a set number of assessments per day which will be conducted from home visits to the office will apply to conduct any face-to-face assessments, training and team meetings. (Your factual report will help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits).
Using various forms of IT systems, on a day-to-day basis.
Undergo a 12-week training programme, where you will learn the key competencies of a Disability Assessor.
What we are looking for:
A valid NMC pin.
Minimum 12 months post registration broad medical experience.
IT Competent, with good typing skills.
Eligibility to live and work in the UK (no sponsorship opportunities are available).
Have a proven record of relevant Continual Professional Development (CPD).
