Winnersh VetsforPets invites you to become part of our dedicated team. We are currently looking for a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Nurse to join us in delivering outstanding care to our patients.
At Winnersh we welcome rabbits and small furries as our team has had a lot of experience and the team have done lots of further learning to make sure we provide the best care. We also work along side Herbie Hedgehog Rescue providing care to wild hedgehogs making prickly patients a regular for us.. Additionally, we offer experiences in orthopaedics and ophthalmology, with a veterinary team holding certificates in these areas. We have state-of-the-art equipment including dental x-ray, ultrasound, internal lab facilities, tonometer, slit lamps, and more to provide the best possible care to our patients.
About the role
We are open to considering flexible hours to accommodate your schedule. Our shifts vary between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm and 11:00 am – 7:30 pm throughout the week, ensuring flexibility and work-life balance. Our Saturday rotation is 1:5 Saturday rotations from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, with the support of a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) to assist you.

A day in the Life of our RVN team:
In our veterinary practice, your role in kennels involves managing a diverse inpatient caseload, catering to small furries and hedgehogs, where you'll devise and implement tailored care plans for each patient. Our nurses are pivotal in overseeing the care of hospitalised animals and their recovery post-procedures, taking on a significant leadership role in inpatient care. You'll also assist our skilled veterinary surgeons during operations, ranging from routine neutering to complex soft tissue, orthopeadic, and ophthalmic surgeries. Moreover, our team benefits from the expertise of a visiting peripatetic surgeon. On prep shifts, you'll engage in a variety of tasks, including theatre circulating, aiding in consultations and kennel care, processing lab samples, and organizing surgical kits. During consults, you'll directly interact with our valued clients and their pets, providing a broad spectrum of services such as weight checks, medication administration, and post-operative assessments, while also managing stock orders to uphold the seamless operation of our practice.
