Part time 22.5 Hours Per Week Contract Type - Fixed Term - 12 Months Contract Shifts are 8.30am-5pm: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Our nurses work one weekend shift per month (on average) which is paid as overtime. The Opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated orthopaedic nursing team at the Hospital for Small Animals. This role involves rotating between working in our theatre suites, teaching students, and working with our referral client appointments. You will get the opportunity to be immersed in specialist procedures and be pivotal in ensuring excellent pre and post - operative care to our ward patients. The Orthopaedic Surgery Service delivers world-leading care for companion animals, with cutting-edge treatments for joint diseases, fractures and lameness investigations. Our team contains RCVS and European board certified Specialists who have the expertise to perform orthopaedics surgeries including: patellar luxation correction tibial plateau levelling osteotomy complex spinal fracture stabilisations total hip replacement angular limb deformity corrections We work closely with the REPAIR Centre to optimise our assessments and postoperative rehabilitation, and with internationally renowned colleagues in Anaesthesia, Neurology and Diagnostic Imaging to provide the very highest standards of care. We provide full training in all areas of the hospital, shadowing experienced staff while learning the ropes. Your skills and attributes for success: Must be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) Excellent organisational and communications skills are essential Keen dedication to teaching the next generation of veterinary surgeons and Veterinary Nurses is a must. Passion for providing and learning about excellent fear-free handling of our patients, with experience in this being desirable for all candidates
