UE06 £31,396 to £36,024 per annum plus paid contractual overtime (£33,862 to £38,855 per annum) (A revised salary range for this grade of £32,982 (£35,573 with contractual overtime) to £38,205 (£41,206 with contractual overtime) is planned to take effect from Spring 2024) Fixed term contract - 12 months Full time 35 hours/week (plus paid contractual overtime - our nurses work one weekend shift per month (on average).) Shifts are 8.30am-5pm, Monday to Friday The Opportunity: We have an opportunity to join our dedicated oncology nurses at the Hospital for Small Animals. The successful candidate will work with our oncology patients throughout their journey with us. If you thrive on patient care, developing strong relationships with owners, are detail oriented, and enjoy hands on nursing, this is the role for you. The Riddell-Swan Veterinary Cancer Centre is one of the largest oncology centres in Europe and has more than a decade’s experience in providing world-class care for pets diagnosed with cancer. Our busy and highly motivated team comprises both of European and American board-certified Specialist clinicians and four dedicated oncology Veterinary Nurses. This is a great opportunity to use your nursing skills to help in the diagnosis and treatment (medical therapy including chemotherapy, and radiotherapy) of pets with cancer. The service strives for a high level of patient and client care. You will integrate into the oncology team, and work with disciplines across the hospital. We provide full training in all areas of the hospital, shadowing experienced staff while learning the ropes. Your skills and attributes for success: Must be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) Excellent organisational and communications skills are essential Keen dedication to teaching the next generation of veterinary surgeons and Veterinary Nurses is a must Passion for providing and learning about excellent fear-free handling of our patients, with experience in this being desirable for all candidates
