Location: London / Hybrid Working

The Opportunity:
We are looking for a proactive team player to join the Operations team within Zurich Legacy Solutions ("ZLS"). We expect the individual to be execution-focused, remain composed under pressure, and possess problem-solving skills to navigate and enable the delivery of complex portfolio migrations and transfers.

ZLS is a global function responsible for managing the capital of Business Units ("BUs") across the Zurich Group. This involves assuming management control of legacy portfolios and executing them in the market through long-term reinsurance solutions or legal transfers. The team is primarily based in the UK and the US, providing support to BUs worldwide.

ZLS holds a prominent position within the Zurich Group with direct reporting lines to the Head of Group Treasury and the Group CFO. Moreover, ZLS is recognized as a market leader in legacy disposals across the worldwide external legacy market.

We embrace flexible working arrangements to attract the best talent, including part-time, flexible hours, job sharing, working from home, or compressed hours. We understand that the best candidates may not always be available full-time, so please discuss your flexibility needs during the interview.

What will you be doing?
Your role will involve providing project management for the migration of portfolios to counterparts, including facilitating legal transfers and engaging with regulators. This position will focus on non-US portfolios globally and entail end-to-end project management of IT, Data, and People changes related to these portfolio transfers.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong project management skill set, covering operations, data, and people change, and ideally, has a good knowledge of Part VII (or equivalent) transfers, regulatory engagement, and experience in either selling or acquiring insurance/reinsurance companies or portfolios.

  • Take accountability for successfully implementing portfolio transfers and technical migrations.
  • Define and implement appropriate processes to achieve project objectives.
  • Interpret business objectives and translate them into tangible deliverables.
  • Collaborate effectively with other business areas, buyers, lawyers, and regulators, driving activities and understanding deliverables to meet challenging timelines.
  • Be confident in managing change and dealing with conflict resolution, particularly concerning complex dependencies. You will be responsible for planning and delivering projects critical to ZLS's success.
  • Adopt a consultative approach, providing leadership, advice, guidance, coaching, and direction to project team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any project issues, implementing remedial action and developing quality plans.
  • Operate within a governance framework, ensuring appropriate controls and timely, efficient reporting on project progress, benefits, and achievements.

What are we looking for?

Essential:
  • Experience in delivering complex cross-border projects, along with the ability to manage multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Understanding of IT and data combined with a high degree of financial & commercial awareness.
  • Experience in managing or delivering through others without direct line management.
  • Proficiency in a variety of project management tools and experience in delivering projects using different delivery methodologies, e.g., Waterfall and Scrum.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to prepare high-quality PowerPoint presentations.

Preferred:
  • Project management experience in a corporate M&A environment.
  • Working knowledge of the legacy insurance market.
  • Familiarity with the Part VII (or equivalent) transfer process and regulatory engagement.

As an inclusive employer, we want all candidates to feel comfortable and perform at their best during the interview. Please let us know of any reasonable adjustments or practical support needed when you apply.
