Relationship Manager
Nottingham

As a Barclays Relationship Manager, you will have an exciting opportunity to effectively manage, develop and grow a portfolio of approximately 50 customers each with a turnover of between £6.5 and £50m or having debt requirements less than £1m through excellent customer service and deepening relationships. In this role, you will be responsible for proactively maximising opportunities within your local market, to attract and gain at least 1 new customer to the Bank each year.

What will you be doing?

  • Making the customers' life much easier and regularly looking at ways to further achieve this goal to achieve great customer outcomes
  • Taking an interest in our customers’ business, identifying their needs and providing solutions to enable their business to grow
  • Demonstrating ownership and initiative, you will effectively prevent, handle and resolve complaints
  • Being responsible for carrying out regular face to face meetings with each customer
  • Educating clients on the options available for their servicing needs
  • Using analytical skills to interpret internal information around your market place, your portfolio and individual customers to make decisions around your contact strategy
  • Being responsible for establishing a network of key business introducers in local market, undertake networking to develop new contacts, develop new leads

What we’re looking for:
  • Experience of managing relationships with clients
  • Risk management experience
  • Excellent business skills, including decision making


Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Accredited in Lending or a professional related qualification
  • Technical knowledge and or understanding of lending/ Zeus/ GPT and post sanction fulfilment
  • Industry knowledge and understanding of key drivers for business owners

Where will you be working?

Nottingham is a city in central England’s Midlands region. It’s known for its role in the Robin Hood legend and for the hilltop Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery, rebuilt many times since the medieval era. In the Lace Market area, once the centre of the world’s lace industry, the Galleries of Justice Museum has crime-related exhibits. The office is based in the heart of the city centre and is served by good rail, tram & road networks.
