As Relationship Manager, Children and Young People, you will contribute to the Arts Council's role as the national development agency for creativity and culture. Here are some of the things you could expect to do in the role:
- Monitor a portfolio of funded organisations and programmes, including National Portfolio Organisations. This may also include Music Hubs.
- Give funding advice to individuals and organisations about Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants and other funds.
- Support our decision-making processes, writing assessments and participating in decision panels.
- Take a place-based, creativity-led approach to cultural development by working with local stakeholders in targeted places.
- Work with colleagues in the Midlands and nationally to ensure our work benefits more People and enriches lives across the country as part of the delivery of Let's Create, our strategy for 2020-2030, with particular emphasis on our priorities for Children and Young People.
You will be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and experience of arts and cultural activity by, with and for children and Young People, and of cultural education and creative learning. This may be from the creative and cultural sector or in related sectors such as local government, education, health or similar.
You will also have a good understanding of the cultural sector in England and of the current challenges and opportunities facing it, and excellent skills in collaboration, influencing and advocacy, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You'll be comfortable working with data and taking an evidence-based approach to developing new initiatives.
You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of place-based cultural development work. You will have experience in developing credible relationships with a range of stakeholders in one or more of the cultural, voluntary, public, or commercial sectors.
