Reliability Maintenance Manager
Scantec Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading FMCG Food Manufacturing business at their site near Pontypool, to recruit a Reliability Maintenance Manager to lead their Engineering team. This is a fantastic career opportunity for a candidate to really make this role their own and gain excellent development and exposure across their group. It’s small site, so will require you to get stuck in when needed. It’s ideal for senior Engineers or Engineering Supervisors / Shift Managers to step into a full leadership role, we will also be happy to accept applications from experienced Engineering / Maintenance managers.
This role is fast-paced and you will be responsible for day to day asset reliability through the effective management of engineering resources. You will be required to develop and lead a team of multi-skilled engineers to maximise availability of plant, which includes ovens, wrappers, extruders, conveyors, automated bagging machines and slicers.
Summary of core responsibilities:
- Be responsible for coordinating the site resources to minimise downtime
- Use the CMMS system to effectively plan and organise planned maintenance schedules and ensure all routine compliance and regulatory works are undertaken.
- Ensure that the correct Health and Safety and Hygiene standards are followed at all times, whilst adhering to good working practices throughout.
- As a team, ensure that the planned maintenance is completed to a strict schedule whilst always looking for improvements to ensure the reliability of the equipment and supporting the sites efficiency targets.
- Be the escalation point for all engineering matters on site but form part of the wider engineering management team that spans this and another local manufacturing site.
Required skills and experience:
- You will ideally be time-served or have an NVQ Level 3 equivalent Engineering qualification with proven skills within both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. You will need to have the skills to be able to mentor and coach other Engineers. 18thEdition wiring regs would be advantageous.
