Duties
1.1 As the Repair & Maintenance Contract Manager you will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of repair and maintenance services for the Client. You will play a key role in shaping roles and processes to optimise the service. Using your stakeholder management and technical expertise you will ensure that Maintenance operates in line with best practice health & safety standards to ensure effective delivery and customer satisfaction metrics.
1.2 You will be a motivated, effective and experienced leader who will play a pivotal role in our ambitious and dedicated team. You will shape and lead a Maintenance Strategy that meets and exceeds the needs of the Client. You and your team will identify best practice and solutions to some of the Council’s challenges, helping to foster a culture of learning, improvement and ambition.
1.3 In this role, the post holder will need to demonstrate a broad understanding of property matters with an understanding across these key elements of property management:- - Technical Services which covers Engineering and Surveying - Compliance and Client Relations - Cost Consultancy and high-level skills in Maintenance Contract Management, preferably at the professional level.
1.4 To successfully lead the Council’s Maintenance service to ensure that the Council’s property is well managed, maintained and achieves value for money, through: 1.4.1 An effective planned maintenance programme 1.4.2 Contract and performance management of a multidisciplinary supply chain for the delivery of planned preventative maintenance, statutory compliance testing and reactive maintenance 1.4.3 Health and safety compliance management for the estate 1.4.4 Strategic oversight of corporate facilities site and support services 1.4.5 Management of fixed and variable revenue budgets and project specific capital budgets 1.4.6 Being the lead officer on all estate and facilities collaborations 1.4.7 Proactively managing the estate to minimise service failures. 1.4.8 To plan and implement a strategic framework of policies and procedures for Facilities Management services at all properties where the Council has management or maintenance responsibilities.
1.5 The role will ensure that regular audits against maintenance plans are conducted and actioned.
