We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in London, who are recruiting for a Repairs Surveyor on a temporary 3-month contract. The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go full time. The hourly rate of pay is up to £40 via umbrella dependent on experience.
You will be covering a patch of properties based in North West London & West London.
The ideal candidate will have previous of day-to-day repairs within social housing.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Inspect housing stock and building works, prepare specifications; compile tender/contract documentation to deliver repairs and void works
Work within authorised budgets and to agreed quality standards
Assist all colleagues and contractors in order to achieve top quartile performance in all aspects of maintenance services
Carry out pre and post inspections utilising the protimeter and other relevant diagnostic equipment
Specify, authorize, own and manage works to completion
Proactively communicate with customers, internal or external, in line with agreed processes
Collate evidence to manage contractor performance
Experience required:
Qualified to minimum HNC standard, or previous experience in a Construction / Maintenance environment
Experience of scheduling building / planned maintenance works and contract administration
Experience of communicating with service users, staff and other agencies
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Knowledge of housing maintenance, repair specifications, diagnosing defects and remedial works
A strong knowledge of social housing management
Knowledge of housing / property management systems (Northgate or similar)
