Research and Insight Manager - 12 month FTC - Law Firm - London

New 12 month Fixed Term Contract job opportunity for a Research and Analysis professional to join the Research and Insights team of a prestigious law firm. The function provides client and market intelligence to the firm’s client partners and practice areas, as well as supporting the firm’s strategic aims by working closely with its leadership functions.

You will bring experience of conducting Research and analysis in support of strategic initiatives and business development activities to this growing and well-respected function. The role holder will utilise a variety of information sources to analyse market trends, define the competitor landscape and carry out Research and analysis that supports a variety of initiatives, including strategic planning, pitches, proposals, content strategy and campaign delivery.

Key Job Responsibilities will include:

- Partner with colleagues to develop a 'best-in-class’ research function

- Responsibility for scoping research requests and suggesting ideas

- Provide Research and analysis on the activity and trends in the M&A market, capital markets and other key practice areas

- Work closely with the firm and BD teams to develop existing client relationships

- Enhance research processes and pro-actively develop new research solutions

- Assist with gathering internal deal information for pitches and marketing initiatives

The position would be ideal for a Research Analyst who is looking for an opportunity to apply their skills to a range of areas, and who wants to play an active part in a team that delivers insight and analysis that adds value across the business. The individual will be engaging and pro-active and bring a problem-solving approach to opportunities across the firm.

Person specification includes:

- Relevant experience gained in either a B2B or professional services role

- Commercial acumen

- Numerical and ideally, statistical fluency

- The ability to synthesise and summarise data

- The ability to draw on and use internal and external data sources to test a hypothesis

- The ability to build and develop relationships at all levels of the organisation

Additionally Desirable:

- Experience of using PitchBook, MergerMarket, Bloomberg and CapIQ Pro

- Knowledge of M&A, capital markets and private capital

- A sector and/or practice specialism

- 3 years+ work experience in a professional services firm or in a similar environment

- Working knowledge of visualisation tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Flourish or similar
