As part of the NEMO – Novel Early Markers for Ovarian cancer – Consortium, a highly interdisciplinary collaboration including three UK (Manchester, Cambridge and UCL) and two US (Stanford and OHSU) Centres, we wish to appoint a laboratory-based Research Assistant to an exciting project exploring novel ways of identifying biomarkers to detect ovarian cancer at a pre-malignant stage.
During this position, the post-holder will undertake a range of activities including arranging collection of clinical samples from operating theatres at Saint Mary’s Hospital, Manchester and the subsequent processing, characterisation, curating and distributing of these samples to all members within the NEMO Consortium.
The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of clinicians and scientists based within the Division of Cancer Sciences at the University of Manchester as part of the wider Consortium. As such, the Research Assistant will work within the Manchester NEMO Team, based between the tissue processing labs at Saint Mary’s (5th floor Saint Mary’s Hospital) and the analytic labs at the Oglesby Cancer Research Building (OCRB).
As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
