Address A Breast Cancer Now funded Research Associate position is available in the lab of Dr Elena Rainero to work on the mechanisms through which the extracellular matrix supports breast cancer cell growth and migration in complex 3D environments, both in vitro and in vivo. This role provides an opportunity to work as part of a team in a vibrant research environment, within the Molecular and Cellular Biology Cluster in the School of Bioscience.
The project will involve using 2D and 3D cell culture techniques, high-resolution and high-throughput imaging and CRISPR/Cas9 techniques. In vivo studies will be carried out in collaboration with Dr Penelope Ottewell in the Medical School (University of Sheffield).
Applicants must have a PhD in Cell or Cancer Biology (or be working towards a PhD) along with significant expertise in Cancer cell biology. Expertise in 2D and 3D cell culture models along with expertise in imaging techniques (including fixed and live cell imaging) and analyses are also essential. You will be able to demonstrate a collaborative mindset, that you are always looking to acquire and use new skills and enjoy working in an interdisciplinary way.
