Job description
The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering have an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of Avalanche Photodiodes simulation and characterisation to make an impact on our AlGaAsSb avalanche photodiode research. You will work in an established team with world-leading reputations in the photodiode research. You will be expected to carry out wafer design and characterisation of semiconductor Avalanche Photodiodes based on III-V semiconductor materials for the project. The project will develop infrared Avalanche Photodiodes based on AlGaAsSb with two external partners. You will have a PhD degree in electronic engineering or physics, with experience in simulation and characterisation of Avalanche Photodiodes based on III-V semiconductor materials. You also have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to produce high-quality technical reports and to communicate effectively with the external partners. We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
