We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate to join an existing research team working on two current research projects both concerned generally with Medical Performance, quality and safety, and the healthcare workforce which are described below. The post is available immediately for a period of 12 months full-time or a longer contract period part-time pro rata.
The first project is on the use of locum (temporary) doctors in the NHS. We have completed the fieldwork for this project but are still involved in data analysis, writing up and producing journal publications. The postholder will have opportunities to get involved in ongoing data analysis, aimed at leading to journal publications with other members of the team. More information about the project can be found at https://www.ihpo.manchester.ac.uk/research/projects/the-use-of-locum-doctors-in-the-nhs/.
The second project is on the quality and safety of clinical care at the interface between NHS hospitals and private or independent hospitals. The postholder will join the team in undertaking current qualitative fieldwork through interviews, visits and documentary analysis with NHS and independent hospitals and have the opportunity to get involved in the more quantitative and survey-based research taking place as part of the project. The postholder will of course be involved in writing up research findings both for the research report and for subsequent journal publications. More information about the project can be found at https://www.alliancembs.manchester.ac.uk/research/funded-projects/quality-safety-and-clinical-governance-in-nhs-and-independent-hospitals/.
Interviews will be held on Thursday 2nd May.
